Salona (Solin)
Salona, once the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia and the largest archaeological park in Croatia, lies in the heart of Solin. The monumental ramparts with towers and gates, the forum with temples, the amphitheater and cemeteries with Salonian martyrs make Solin the cradle of ancient and early Croatian history. The oldest Marian shrine in Croatia, established by Queen Jelena more than a thousand years ago, is also located in Solin. A walk through its history is particularly attractive to visitors because of its rich cultural and natural heritage.

Mosor
The Mosor Mountains are part of the Dinara Alps and extend from Split to Omiš. The highest part of the mountain is peak Veliki Kabal (1.139 m). Mosor is dominated by a rocky ridge with stony slopes of pronounced Karst relief that decline towards the north and south. Day trips to the Mosor Mountains are a 100 year old tradition of the inhabitants of Split. A hiking trip to the Mosor Mountains is a healthy leisure activity that will present you breathtaking views of central Dalmatia.

Klis
The Klis Mountain is the connection between the Mosor Mountains in the east and Kozjak Mountain in the west. Throughout history, many peoples were trying to conquer Klis, as they considered it as a gateway to Dalmatia and an open passage to ancient Salona and Split. The well-known fortress of Klis is a symbol and the venue of the resistance of united Dalmatians in the fight against the Ottomans. Visit Klis and experience the spectacular views of Split and the Adriatic Sea.

Omiš
Omiš is a picturesque town with real Mediterranean atmosphere on the estuary of the river Cetina. It is the town of the traditional Dalmatian A-Capella Singing Festival, a town which was governed by the Omiš Pirates for more than two centuries and a town where the sea, river and the mountains entered into a loving and harmonious symbiosis. After a turbulent and interesting history dating from antiquity to the Middle Ages with its impregnable fortress of the pirates of Omiš, the city is today the tourist center of the very beautiful riviera. In Omiš you can experience a nightly pirate cruise on the ship, climb the rocks overhanging the city or just enjoy one of the many wonderful beaches there.

Trogir
Trogir is a town situated on the Kaštela Bay coast between the island of Čiovo and the mainland. This is a historic town, i.e. a museum-town in the truest sense of the word due to its rich cultural and historical monuments, authentic architecture and beautiful streets, which is why Trogir is also called “Little Venice”. Because of the numerous Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance buildings it was awarded the title “Best preserved Romanesque-Gothic town in Central Europe” and was placed on the UNESCO list of world heritage. Discover the beauty of Trogir by walking through the town or taking a cruise on a boat or in a kayak.

In addition to the above mentioned attractions, there are many more interesting places close to Hotel Split, which invite you and are worth visiting. In Sinj for example, you can watch the famous equestrian competition Alka, take a horseback ride or experience the pilgrims on the feast day of the Assumption of Mary and visit the Church of the Miraculous Madonna of Sinj. Vrlika is the home of the famous opera “Ero s onoga svijeta” and the place where the river Cetina has its source. Here you can also experience the mighty Dinara mountain range and the still authentic Dalmatian hinterland, where you can enjoy the famous and freshly prepared Uštipci (traditional Dalmatian fritters). The town Imotski is proud of its deep karst lakes Modro and Crveno jezero (Blue and Red Lake) and its fertile vineyards whose wines you must try. From the rooms in Hotel Split you have a fantastic view of the islands Šolta and Brač which are truly worth a visit that we will be happy to organize for you.
